Two Hours on the Grass

Not that grass!!!

The grass in front of a school! Quite a big patch at that. I detected all along the bus lane, but on the wrong side. lol
I did this on purpose because this big patch leads down to a ginormous tot lot filled with wood chips. I figured some of these little crumb snatchers must run down this patch to get to the playground and lose all kinds of stuff. I only detected a swath about 10 feet wide by about 60 feet long. Had the place all to myself till the sun set and the mosquitos suddenly noticed I was there. Any type of activity at night outdoors is pretty much frowned upon in these parts, unless your in your own yard of course, so I don't detect at night...OR I WOULD!!! :yo:

I'm sure I spent more on gas getting here, but I like this place. Found silver here a few times too. Not today though, but I did find one wheat penny, so at least I know the possibility still exists! Here is my finds for two hours. Trash not pictured, but I didn't dig too much.

Thanks for looking. HH & GL, diggindad

I like any place that is fairly peaceful, has targets, and holds even the slightest promise of silver. I hit an old school like that last night. It was all fun till those darned blood suckers ganged up on me. I was wearing thirty gallons of mosquito spray. They magically discover the one by eight inch place that I couldn't spray and can't reach to defend myself. Fought them for a while then ran for the car. Hopefully, when you recover all that clad you will find a few sweet, deep signals underneath. Thanks, for sharing.

Great nickel count there! :clapping: A guy would think thered be a lot more surface drops? Sometimes it takes a little while to find the hot zone at a place...sometimes its obvious and sometimes not..somebody must hunt that place regular you think?

Nice finds DD, your right about those wheaties, always gets my dopper up when I see a wheaties. We've got a hunt planned this Tuesday hopefully we'll fine some silver.

Thanks all! I was surprised at the nickel count. I don't generally find a lot of them. Its almost like somebody detects around me and only digs nickels. I swear, they're rare for me!

I usually find more dimes. Not sure if anyone else hunts this particular place, its quite a drive from my house. I hit this place a bunch of times last year, but never this particular area. This place is very big and set far off from the road, just the way I like it. The police did come by twice. First one waved hello and the second pulled up just as I was putting my gear away. He too was super friendly and asked me how I did. This is also the first place I have ever seen a bear in my state. I do get a little uncomfortable at times when I have my earbuds in. I doubt one would attack me, but you never know how hungry one might be or have a cub nearby

I should have taken a picture, I will next time. There is a paving stone under a really large old tree that has a giant penny cemented to it. I wonder if it is a time capsule or something. It seems to have been there a long time cause the tree roots are growing over it.

Thanks for taking the time to read my spiel! :drinking:
