I have been away from this bulletin board for quite awhile. Eric Foster used to make an underwater PI detector, called the AquaStar I believe, using a case similar to the old Garrett underwater machines. I could not locate this model on Bill's webpage. Does Eric still make an PI unit suitable for diving (less than '100 feet???

The polycarbonate case for the Aquastar is still in production, but if I recall correctly, the company (Ikelite) requires the buyer to purchase 250 of the cases at a time. This is big bucks in anyone's language.
There are quite a few of us who would eagerly purchase an Aquastar if the cases could be bought by Eric in smaller numbers.
Eric's current underwater model is the Aquasearch, but the case/knobs are not rated to the depths that the Aquastar case/knobs could provide.
There has been a lot of "trawling" through the internet for suitable cases, which in themselves need to meet certain criteria to be worthy of an Aquastar.
The search continues...........right Eric <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">
