Haven't posted in a while because I haven't found anything!! Did a 3 hour dive at a Rev War site, but only found part of a stirrup and a few plain flat buttons. Visibility was terrible with all the rain we've had. But my brother had some luck...he found this Badge from the 9th annual Reunion of the United Confederate Veterans in 1899 in Charleston, SC. Here it is...

I had posted one similar back on aug,2 of one from 1896 from Richmond, Va. and nobody hardly even viewed it much less reply or comment about it. I thought it was a nice find but apparantly nobody else did. Here's the one I found. HH <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Very nice!! With the top portion, too!! I think as this forum gets more popular and with David from Dixie Metal Detectors helping identify finds, more folks will be attracted to this forum. If you look back at the very early posts, even the number of views of any particular post was not near as much as now. This is a great place to share finds and get additional info on relics. BTW, I did a search on the 1899 United Confederate Veterans reunion and found out what the group discussed and who was the head officer at that time. Very interesting stuff! Good Hunting!!!
