I posted a message on Garrett forum about mxt coil yesterday next day post is gone.Now i went to mxt forum and posted about the new coil for ace 250 and got a pm and it was pulled.I thought this whole forum all brands was about metal detecting could you explain you have been around a while.Not that any one was being mean but i thought these forum were open to discuss all aspect no matter the brand.I use different brands of metal detectors and enjoy being informed of new items or detectors and sharing ideas and help.Thanks for your input
 
Hey, I am with you Ohio Fred. I think they want everybody to post in that particular category, as that is the interest of the people posting there.

They removed my post mxt forum about the new ace 250 coil they were nice about it but i didn't quite understand till it was explained to me.
 
Not sure I understand your dilemma but will take a shot at it. The folks who sponsor these forums ( and pay big bucks ) don't appreciate people discussing or promoting other brands on their dime. If this wasn 't a specific brand forum ( such as the Metal Detecting Forum ) then there probably wouldn't be a problem. Hope this clarifies it and I didn't confuse you even more. :)

sometimes people are so brand sensitive they get mean and hatey if you mention another brand. With the forums dedicated to one brand and/or model it keeps the lead flying to a minimum. I like it this way but there is the "Metal Detecting" forum where all can post up and mostly people are interested in the finds. It's an open forum so you can post about any detector or accessory you want. When I'm detecting and someone else is with me, I don't care what you swing just what goodies you have found.

To me, there is another good reason. I go to a specific forum to find answers to my brand in that particular forum because I know I won't have to wade and sift through unrelated material to speed up my search. With my Ace, I go to the Garrett forum; with my Silver umax I go to the Tesoro forum, and my CZ-5, well you get the idea. I have fallen in love with the Metal Detecting Forum, as the previous poster stated, for general posts, and you will find many of your favorite posters from ALL forums there, too.
