I always put out seed for the birds in the winter. I looked out the window Christmas day and got quite a surprize to see 5 wild turkeys munching away on the birdseed.I know we all like to have turkey for Christmas, but this is quite a switch from the normal..Hope everyone had a great Christmas..Ken

From the land of the Bluenose.....looks like more Xmas dinner. Never had the pleasure of eating one of those from the wild. Best of the season to you sir!
You know guys (all) I am a biologist from down here in Fl and I have read in magazines, seen photos submitted on various websites, and heard many many stories of just what you see in this photo. For some reason this happens all over the states where turkey populations exist. It is simply amazing that they show up at feeders in the holiday seasons from just before Thanksgiving through New Years. It does not matter if there is snow or not (some feel it has to do with snow covering there food supplies) as I have seen photos ranging from north to south east to west where there is no snow. Go figure.

That not bad. My cousin is having trouble keeping the bear out of his bird feeders. They are fighting each other for it.
