Union Navy button

Found this in the woods yesterday with a Tesoro Vaquero. I knew it was military but was surprised that it was civil war.



 
Saw your post about the civil war Union Navy Button you found.

About two years ago, I found one of these buttons with my etrac.

A picture of the button I found is attached.

It was a deep target. About 8 inches down. At first I thought it was just an old button until I looked it up on the internet and saw what it was.

Not many of these out there. Didn't think anyone else would find one but, you did.

Im guessing they wore their jackets long after their service was completed. I can picture a logger , wearing his navy coat.
 
I think that is a cool find. Not everyday you get something like that. I really like it... KEN

For some reason the photo came out better than what it actually is .The wear spots are darker , but still a lot of gild on it.
