Unknown Artillery Shell

Dug these yesterday. I have no idea what type
artillery shell that is. There is no hole on top that I could find.
Maybe a Hotchkiss? The inside is mostly hollow.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think this is it, its a sabot round.

Looks like the sabot and cup(bottom) of a Hotchkiss Shell. The actual explosive shell, with flame grooves and fuse is missing. Just my opinion. Good Find!!!

Nice find and think the guys above got it ID'ed correctly. Add to the Mantle piece collection... cch

Thank you, guys. Two more pictures of the War of Northern Aggression relic
finds in the same area where the shell fragment came from. I found a button
about 100 yards away from where it was found. It's a Devonshire Regiment tunic
button (post Revolutionary War.) Who knows how it was lost there.
As a heads up, I'd like to suggest the Library Of Congress website as a
research tool. Try the map section.
