unstable cz6

rotoharr

New member
took my cz6 to a dealer couple of wks ago because, when i wiggled the coil cable at the connector the needle jumbed all over the place.
Dealer say's must be connector. 145.00 later i bring my detector home[didn't checki at the shop]
turn it on, problem still the same.
Not very happy i start playing around and discover that in autotune the detector is very stable but as soon as i switch to disc, boom totally unstable.
Has anyone experienced the same or have any idea what the problem might be.
Can't believe the dealer wouldn't have discover this before ripping out my perfectly good four pin connector, but can't rag on the daeler til monday , so maybe someone out there can help.

thanks

If it were mine,I would take it back and complain big time.I think its pretty obvious the dealer misdiagnosed the true problem.I bet it will be a coil problem, have you switched coils to see if that cured your problem?

Good call fzz955

Took it back and they played with it for a while and sort of by accident found it was the coil.
They had a new cz coil sitting there that if they had of in the first plugged it in, they would of
easily discovered the problem. You would think a dealer with 35 yrs experience would have done that
in the first place.
Anyway much to their credit, they appoligized and gave me a new coil n/c in place of the labour charge.
Thanks for your reply..

Tom
