need some feed back on this beast please.from what i heard is stay away from electrical wires,ect.----turns in a chatter box???anything that can be done to avoid this?does anybody make some static trap that attaches to the coil wire?any good settings to start with.any information will be appreciated:clapping:

If it starts turn down the sens........you can also do a freq. shift........hh...........Dan

You are going to hear targets you never heard with any other detector you have used. Pops crackles, and chirps.. It's actual targets the F75 LTD is seeing.
So don't get aggravated..Run her at lower sens till you get the feel Bill. Your going to swear it's faulty.. You may also dramatically up your rusty caps finds depending on where you use it.. Lower sens does not mean a great loss in depth either..You will be amazed at what say 40 BP will do..

Start with a hard reset, set DISC=0, MODE=BP, drop SENS to 50 then hunt and dig. Forget the 'static trap' or any other mods. Tell us what you find.

You picked yourself a good one.

Right out of the box, set the LTD to factory preset mode.....and hunt in those modes for several hours on the likes of tot lots and school yards. This will allow you to dig a variety of targets and learn what all the detector is saying. Even in the factory preset modes, the LTD is still deeper then many other detectors that are cranked to peak.

You will occasionally run into spots where emi is severe. Running in the B P mode, however is usually quite a bit quieter then when in the D E mode. As mention, frequency shift some times will quiet it down some as well as lowering the sen. When it is really bad, you can add some disc. and that will help quiet it down. I've got a couple of spots that I have to run with at least 6 disc. and a sen. setting of 29. 29 puts it into a low gain mode, but will still allow you to dig quite deep targets. I'll let you be the judge of how deep, but you will be pleased.

As Elton mentioned, you will immediately hear things in the ground that other detectors simply can't see and ultimately, the pops and chirps will take a little getting used to. That is normal with the LTD.

Good luck and enjoy.

Two types of "chatter" ... interference and in the ground. As mentioned, start with a reset to the preset settings.

Interference chatter is noticed when the coil is just above the ground and stationary. Adjusting detector frequencies has been reported by some to help; try it. That technique has not made much difference where I've had interference. I turn down the sensitivity until it quiets down and, as noted above, turn up the discrimination slightly.

Ground chatter is when you aren't getting interference and you get a short zips or sometimes clipped tones. It you check carefully, sometimes need to go with a small coil, nearly all repeat. If you look for every one of those zips, you will find some incredibly small pieces of foil, beads, or small blobs. Turning down the sensitivity can reduce this ground chatter. Running motion all metal is quieter too, but the tendency is to spend a lot of effort watching the ID numbers.

Best way to learn is to hunt, dig most targets until you get a feel for the detector.

The detector you just got is incredible on coins on edge and partly masked targets.
Cheers,
tvr

You can read the on line manual.......do a google search.......good luck.........Dan

Do the factory reset first...
Look for a 4x6" coil.
Its a little better in EMI, trashy ground and rusty bottle caps.
The F-75 and F-70 will give fast responses, faster than you brain is use to, takes time.
Don't even think about adding any rubber washers to the lower rod, that's a good way to brake the ears on the 11" coil...
On the 4x6 coil, you can use a CZ lower rod with washers.
