Upgrading from Quattro. Explorer or E-Trac?

I'm currently using a Quattro which I'm quite happy with except for its slow recovery, but have decided now is the time to upgrade to either the Explorer or the E-Trac. I've more or less made a decision on which way to go, but I'm sure their are plenty of you out there who have used each detector and I would like to read your comments and thoughts on each detector. I'm mainly interested in beach combing, searching for coins & lost jewellry.

What do people think are the good and bad points of each detector?

If you were upgrading which detector would you choose and why?

You just can't make a bad choice here. They are both elite detectors. I would though, go with the E Trac considering it has the fastest processor that Minelab has put into a FBS machine. The thing that I really love about the E Trac is that you do not have to switch between hunting screens. The numeric, ferrous, non-ferrous display and the cross hare displays are now together at one time, on the same screen. With the Explorer, you have to push a button to switch between each screen. The target depth meter is vastly improved also. It is much easier to understand now that they put line markers at intervals. The other feature that I love, is the pinpointing. The E Trac is dead on every time. It is very easy with the bulls-eye on the display. You can feel free to call me any time toll free and I would be happy to go over the various differences between them.

They are both good detectors, but I have to go with Tony on this, E-Trac all the way. I just upgraded from the Se to the E-Trac, still learning how to use it, but I am very happy with it. Found a Gold ring my first day with the E-Trac in an area I had pounded with my SE and MXT. Whichever one you decide to get, make sure you get Andy's book, as it will make learning the SE and E-Trac much easier.

Thanks for the info guys. Basically I had already decided to go with the E-Trac for all the reasons you mention . In the E-Trac forum everyone is passionate about their machines, so I thought it would be a good idea to see if any of the Explorer users had any concerns about the E-Trac. Seems like no one has.

So I've ordered my new E-Trac and expect to have it a couple of days time. Can't wait to try it out:clapping::bouncy::detecting:
