A Rokon, ATV motorcycle. Rokon has been making these in the U.S. for nearly 60 years; both wheels are simultaneously chain driven by a centrifugal clutch. It has 3 forward gears, first gear is extremely low range from about 1/2 to 7 mph. Rokon will actually climb up the side of a tree, wall, or over a picnic table because of both wheels turning. High gear does about 25 mph. The machine weighs 200 lbs. Military, forest service, fire fighters, search and rescue are just a few that use the Rokon.
I had been looking on Ebay and Craig'slist for 4 months; everything I was finding was 600-800 miles away. Elson and Craig even offered to help me out on transporting when they came this way again, but it seemed like I was always a day late and a dollar short on obtaining them before they sold. Finally found this one on Ebay in Virginia at an affordable price, considering the high value these machines hold. They're still making Rokons today, they sell for about $6000 without any accessories. Rokons will haul 1000 lbs and pull 3000 + lbs; it will go through 2 feet of water before the flotation in the tires and rims cause it to float; if you had to, you could actually float it across a pond or river, restart it on the other side, and continue on your way. It will also go through 2 feet of snow; beyond that it will go pretty much anywhere you point it, and if you can hang onto it you'll come out the other side
. Just hope I don't hurt myself on this thing. Now to paint it really cool, I'll post again in a couple weeks with this bad boy.
