:usaa: The awesome Leanna stated her first wolf sculpture...

[size=large] Lee started this about a week ago. First picture is the support frame she made. Second photo she's packed clay on in the resemblance of a howling wolf. She then starts shaping and building the body . Yesterday she started doing some detail on the head. I took some photos of it this morning and thought I would post it on the forum for you too see. Of course there is a lot more to do and we've come up with a really cool idea for a rather extravagant base setting. Lee wants him standing in snow, anybody have any ideas of what can be used for snow? Sheets of white Styrofoam would be perfect but once they get dusty there's no way to clean them really. I may call a Taxidermist and ask what substance they use for snow in their wildlife mounts.
Lee is going to try and sell this on eBay when it's completed and all mounted on the base. She of course will put a reserve on it. I expect this to sell well over a thousand dollars. The hardest part is already done and looking great. . . that's the head and eyes. The next hardest part will be getting the legs and feet situated for the wood base. The wolf is 12" high and 13" long. I'll post more pictures when it's near done, thanks for looking, Click on photo's to enlarge.

Your girls are really talented,,I just wish that i could afford to buy it to have and enjoy..It would be a blast to help support some one with such talent..

... she can use a tooth brush or other bristle brush to jab some texture (or wolf tracks) into the snow if she does not want it smooth. Patching plaster allows more working time than plaster of Paris. The snow can be treated with a satin finish lacquer or bees wax so that dust can be more easily cleaned off.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. WTG Leanna.
