[size=large] The clay cougar is mounted on a twisted ceder limb 30" high we got in the woods. In the first photo you can get an idea if the size. The long tail is not on yet, just a stub where a support wire will go and be secured to the upper branch for strength before the clay is added. The wire in the side of the cat is helping to support the weight of the wet clay until it is fired and hardens. The body is in no way finished and she will continue to add and take away clay... tweak, prod push and sculpt the form until she is satisfied with the shape and proportions of the cougar... so it is a work in progress. Later, detail like; hair texture, claws and whiskers will be added, plus airbrushed with paint. Then mounted on a nice, sand colored, wooden base.
I will post some more photo's while she's painting it after it is fired.
