The photographer was standing in the very spot where I proposed to Nancy in 1972. To his back is a vista of the entire Emmett valley, and I took her to that overlook to ask her to be my wife. The cut along the right side of the photo at the top of the hill is the old road into town, I have detected that whole old cut and found a lot of cool old stuff that was in the ground when the picture was taken. On top of the hill to the left of the photo is another overlook that was called V.L.S., (Virgins last stand) It was a popular spot for, well, you know. Nancy and I dug a very large gold wedding band on that hill top. I can see that very spot where # 27 was taken from the south windows of my home.
Photo 26 is about 100 miles north of here and some of those buildings are still there. I just roughed in a new house about a half a mile from where that photo was taken. Funny that among all those cool photos were picts of my area. DC
