As a follow up I thought it would be a good idea to let my fellow hunters know that this scoop far exceeds my expectations on all fronts!
The price is right, it's easy to build , and it works like a charm!!
I have dug tons of sand and many coins and a few nice gems too.
I'm so proud of my creation I could just sh--------------t!!
I'm sure you get the idea!!

The scoop is held together with two stainless steel bolts and no welds!!
This and the fact its made of scrap metal certainly had appeal to me.
I used it this AM to dig for a few hours in wet sand/gravel and pushed it pretty hard with no damage to the scoop!
I'm quite pleased with this tool!

I used the scoop again this PM and I still marvel at how well it performs!
I can see my greatgrand children using this tool and many generations beyond as well.
There are not many devices in this world that are able to survive years of use and even one generation of frequent use, but I'm sure that this tool will!
If it is used within its intended perameters (Not for water hunting!!) it will last several lifetimes I am certain!!
