:usaflag: Battery Life and Dual Field Performance

Cupajo

As the Dual Field batteries edge into the end of their life cycle (I have 30+ hours on the set in my machine and it seems to be generally functioning well.) does the depth and sensitivity start to radically deminish or is there a slow reduction of the machines function?

At what point does it make sense to change to new batteries to maintain peak performance?

Every time I turn on my PI"s I do a battery check. I need to hear a loud tone almost startling tone once it clicks in, If it isn't I change them. The machine will work with them almost dead, with not too much lost in performance. I'm not sure but I'm willing to bet that as long as there is a certain amount of voltage it's all good, once it falls below then caput.

Hey S.Pro,

Thanks for your reply!!

I was beginning to think I dreamed that I posted about the battery thing!

I noticed a strange rhythm sound the other day while using my DF. It would slightly interfere with the tone too. As the day went on it got louder. I put in new batteries that night and it is all good again. Funny, the loud start up tone was always good and strong. I almost thought my DF was strtting to have problems. I can not tell you how many hours were on the batteries but they had been in there for over a month.

Hi MrGrd,

I hoped to get this sort of feed-back when I sent in this post!

Thanks for your info.............it will be interesting to get some long term material accumulated of other hunters experiences with the DF and low battery responses.

Thanks again Fellow Hunter!!,
