:usaflag: Dual Field Does it Again!!:detecting:

Two hours of hunting yesterday netted me lots of aluminum nuggets, the usual rusty nails etc. and 1 penny!

Two hours today resulted in the same kinda nuggets (From cans melted in beach fires I think!), more nails etc, one nickle and this fine 14K beauty!

You can see the holes I left as the in-coming tide was filling them almost as fast as I could and no-one was walking that close to the water anyway as cold as it is!

The Dual Field and "Poor Man's Backhoe" did it again!

That is the "ring" finger!

My first square-cornered ring!

14K white gold!!

When I finished the picture taking I looked back down my series of holes and there was a lady strolling through them like she was on a sidewalk!!

I told her that I hadn't covered the holes as I was sure no-one would be walking that close to the water and she just shrugged her shoulders.

We had a short chat about what I was doing and as always I placed emphasis on the rusty nails and wire I was removing to protect the children and general public.

She was the only person I saw on the beach.

GL&HH Friends,

CJ

PS This was the first and last time in years of hunting that I left open holes!

Were you out there while the wind was blowing? I was walking my dog when that NW wind kicked in this afternoon... nice gold Lew ;)

I knocked off at 3:30 as I was getting tired and went for my afternoon coffee.

All in all it was a nice afternoon in the 40s.

The water was rough from the SW wind so I hunted wet sand.

The wind started picking up shortly after,

Thanks Dig,

On being "da man" any kinda job would have paid me more for the hours I invested in metal detecting over the years, but nothing could have been as much fun!!

The day it stops being fun is the day I put all my gear on Ebay. Luckily, I cant see that happening anytime soon. I love the sight of gold in the scoop, the ocean, and the people (like yourself) who make this a great hobby.

I will second that one Dig.. Dig on..! Marty

Nice ring CJ! You must have forgotten Murphy's Law, which states many things, including "The day you leave holes on the beach will be the day a little old lady comes walking along that part of the beach"

Nice looking ring.

Awesome find CJ! That ring will look great in your collection because of its unique shape. Usually when I'm finding those melted aluminum bits it's not a good sign but it's good to see that one can still find gold in that situation. HH!

CupaJo, nice find, can't wait to get in the water around here. Still a bit cold, but maybe soon.

Have a good one and hope you find alot more of the Gold.

See ya

foiled again tab hunter said:

Point well taken, but read the bottom of his post where he says
that it was the FIRST and LAST time he would leave open holes.
We all get laxidazical every now and then. Gold Nuggets :wiggle:
P.S. Nice ring CJ

I don't own a scale, but as rings go it is pretty beefy.

It came from about eight feet up on the beach from the water's edge in the damp sand.
