i have a question FOR the ace250 guys , have u guys ever in wood chips before ?? i like to know
what im getting into , should the sens level be the same as like being on dirt , ??? is it a pain in the ass to
on it ??// any advice im open thank you guys ....

Nah, I love woodchips. Easy diggin!!!! I just use my shoe to push them out of the way.

Every site is different, when you get there see what sen. your machine will let you hunt at.

I don't do as everyone else does, so don't listen to anything I say. If it ain't falsing, I run the sensitivity all the way. If it start giving me false signals I turn the sensitivity down till it's quiet.

Sometimes wood chips have minerals in them and will cause your detector to false. Adjust accordingly. If it all is fairly clean, I dig everything but iron. Lots of gold in the foil and pull tab range.

Turn sensitivity down next to playground equipment. I love wood chips!!!

You mean to say you've never hunted in the chips before? That is quite unique. That's where I do most of my hunting. Settings are the same as they are anywhere else. Easy digging and recovery. Some of my best and most interesting finds have been made in bark chips If you've never hunted them you've been missing a lot.

yea those dark pennies can be a pain... I carry my pinpointer at all times even in the wood chips, so if its a penny I just use it to speed the process up.

Be prepared to do a bit of diggin'. While the new drops are in the fluffy chips, the older stuff may be down in the matted and decomposing older chip layer. A three tined claw type garden tool does a pretty good job working in the chips from top to bottom when your shoe-shovel just doesn't cut it.
Remember some tot-lots have a plastic or mesh material at the very bottom layer which may be held in place by big headed nails. These nail heads really ring up so look for a spacing pattern and you may save some digging.
