A spot in my closet to store my detector(s) until next spring. Sheesh...it can stop snowing any time now !!

Sadly, we had 9-10" of snow in the valley floor Saturday Night / Sunday Morning. And now it is cold and getting colder. The Thursday morning turkey bowlers are going to be looking at single digit temps. Looks like winter decided to set it.

I took my E-trac out of the car Saturday night when I got home from work. The storm front moved in several hours earlier than I anticipated and I didn't get my "Last Hunt" in like I thought I would.

Last good find of the year? A 1917-S Mercury Dime hiding under a copper and lead whatzit around 9".

While cleaning up and sorting finds from the year, I re-found (if that's a word) a find I didn't know that I had. Hunted an old rodeo ground that was a little too muddy a couple weeks ago. Started going through my finds, sorting out clad and such and found a dark gray 192? Merc Dime. Came out of the ground looking like a regular old dark clad dime and fooled me. Needs some love and electricity. Will throw a before and after pic when I get some time.

Let me see how do i say this.... it was 68 today in Indy i found 12 Wheats, 2 Rosies, $3 and something in change,... oh and a 1940 D Walking Liberty. So my Dectector is staying in the car unit the ground is too frozen to hunt or i go to Florida for the winter.

Keep that crud in your area bud. It was 71 degrees in illinois today but they are calling for a dusting of snow Thanksgiving night.

when everything back east is frozen solid you detectorist need to come out west where you can detect until next spring, don't worry the fruits wont jump out of the trees and eat you

lots of places to detect in the winter , you will get bored soon try the snow sliding hills snow piles and side of snowy roads

We'll probably be looking like that in a few weeks here in NE Ohio. At least we'll have time to clean up our machines, catalog our finds and do some scouting for spots for next season. Happy Thanksgiving to all & HH.

WONDERFUL! I hear we have some of that junk heading this way around Thanksgiving night.

On a more optimistic note...I will not give in until the ground freezes past the 3" level. I'll hunt in some white stuff just as long as the ground allows.:super:

With the wind here is was a warm, -31 but on the plus side we only have 3" of snow. I'll take cold over snow any day unless it's -60 again.......

Well, I guess that it is time to get the ski's out.

Any word on a new version of the Explorer or E-trac?
