:usaflag: Is There A Pulse Water Machine That Can Be Used By A Deaf Person??

Cupajo

Active member
I have a young friend that really enjoys metal detecting, but has had to stay ashore because he isn't able to find a water machine to use.

He does pretty well watching the dial on his Whites machine to pin-point a target and would like to be able to join his water hunting
wife who is not deaf.

Thanks for any info,

CJ

There is a what is called bone transducer which gives a vibration when items are found. It was used some years ago on some underwater machines and the diver would wear it under his wetsuit hood. I don't remember who made them but I think I still have one which was taken off a detector. I could most likely be wired into a current detector. Whites may have made them.

Hello Cupajo,

You can make a led output to a surfmaster, ...for dive use I made a detector that has as signal indicator a led, for use in sunny day light you can make a small smd led in a sun-glass ?
If you have a background in electronics... look at Geotech01 forum http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16576 or http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16991

Best regards.

The problem with a bone phone is that you still rely on your ear mechanism and auditory nerve to be working. The sound is conducted by the bone into the ear sensor, instead of by air. A good old analog meter is fine as you can see quite small deviations of the pointer.

Wow!

What a wealth of information!

Thanks all for your fast responses.

alexismex your Cell-phone vibrator idea is sweet!

Matbe we can get my friend water hunting yet!

Regards and best wishes to you all,

CJ

I took out the old bone phone that I had and you sure are right. I thought when I tried this some time ago, that I could feel a vibration with it, but now I do not, so it won't work. I guess they would need something that vibrates, if not the meter as you mentioned.
