Usin the Vaquero in all metal...best way to do it?

I have never really used the Vaquero in all metal, but thought I should maybe give it a try because of some of the added benefits and to see how I like it. Without frustrating myself too much I wanted some input from you guys on the best way to go about doing it. Any help is appreciated

Ground balance, keep it in am and start detecting. Dig it all for a while and try to develop an ear for very subtle differences in tone. When you get tired of all the trash, thumb the disc up until the signal fades paying attention in what target range it disappears and dig the most likely good ones.

I dig in AM mode when I need depth (in the forest and at the heavily pounded sites). When you hear a strong signal, rotate the Disc knob with your thumb and check the signal in Discrimination mode. Sometimes it is possible to decide "to dig or not to dig" without soiling your shovel.

If you get a faint, weak signal in AM (which is the best and could mean a deep coin), pinpoint it and then test in the Disc mode. Quite often the signal will disappeare. Now you should remove 4-5" of soil and test the spot one more time in Disc mode. If the signal is broken - this is iron for sure. If it sounds good, dig it! This is the way to dig deep targets which you will never find in the Disc mode.

try using all-metal as long as your ears and unwanted targets let you. it's a great mode, but not recommended for every situation
