Using Metal detector near gettysburg Pa

Going to Gettysburg in June, 09 just got a new Garret Ace-250 and hope to search for relics near the battlefield. Does anyone out there know of any friendly farmers that would allow a hunt on their property?

Good luck with that. I would think that most of the farmers have been hammerd by people wanting to detect their feilds. Just make sure that you don't happen on to some park land. Not a good thing. We camp there every year in June and weeds are up and the crops are planted already. It wouldn't hert you to drive by a few farms and check them out but I'd say the prime hunting season would be very early spring. You could check with Gettysburg electronics as Mr. Hinks has been detecting there for the last 30 years and has had his detector shop there for at least that long.

Happy Hunting
