using vco

I use VCO and Tone ID on all the time.

available on the XL pro. Perhaps the only thing I would like to see added to a "re-do" of that model. :)

Monte

PS: By "GOOD I am referring to a VCO audio that doesn't peak too quickly. The VCO audio on the XLT is fine, unless you crank up the DC Sensitivity too much.

Let me put it to you this way: I can't figure out why it isn't on the stock default settings, instead of the montone one. Why in the heck did Whites make the monotone all-metal sound to be the default? I dunno. Another pleasant touch (if you can get used to the sympthony) is to use the VCO all-metal option, with the two-tone mode. That's where you hear the all-metal back-ground in VCO with your discriminate sounds over-layed. Gives you a good feel for what you're passing over :)

I totally agree with Tom. Why VCO, such a great tool for pinpointing was religated to an option rather than a standard start up tool is beyond me. When I first bought my XLT E series, pinpointing was a real disappointment. But then I discovered VCO. It was like night and day, and pinpointing bacame a breeze. Now its a part of every custom program I have in my detector.
