hiya guys,,has anyone who uses the vaq,,,used this machine on the wet sand,,,now i used a modified shib with a 10 turn g.b and a 12 x 10 d.d. coil and it was faultless,,,now tried my new boy on the salt and it dont like it ,,its fitted with the 9 x 8 web. and wont look at the salt at all,,now on my machine it only has a 3/4 turn g.b.,,unlike the vaquero which has a 3 3/4/ turn g.b.,,,now before trying it ,,i used a 3/4 inch x 3/8 inch piece of ferrite which ive used for years to get the worst g.b. situation a machine can find to g.b.,,it tuned neutral at around the pos, or plus mark on the machine,,,went to the beach and the machine on the dry ish sand or even the dry sand tuned neutral at the SAME MARK,,,now is this normal ? i thought the ferrite and the salty sand would be on different sides of the g.b. control,,,my question is ,,is the 3/4 turn enough,,or is it not enough ?? or is the 12 x 10 the reason it wont balance,,,i dont think it is ,,,as the stability was really wonderfull,,very quiet and deep,,i got 8 inches on a clad 1 penny,,,the minelab g.t. didnt want it ,,,wonderfull,,,will ask tesoro maybe they can help if this turns up a dud,,let me know what you know ,,,rgds
