Vaquero with the 10 x 12 Widescan

I know a couple of folks were wondering about this coil. Finally got out Saturday between rain showers with the new 10 x12 on the Vaquero. Went over same areas that I have covered with the 8 x 9. Alot of targets were missed with the 8 x 9, dont know if i will ever take the 10 x 12 off.

It is nice. The only thing that gets my goat is it is hard to work in the woods and brush.Any trees, leaves, straw, dips in the terrain,it can be a pain.If it locate a good site,i am going back with a small coil to really work close to the ground.Sweeping around sticks and trees with a small coil i think will help me.I am glad you like the coil.WTG!!

Wow the 8x9 coil missed the horse shoes? Just teasing . Great coil !!

Nice hand forged shoes, they could really mask a good target, the 10x12 is very good for coverage,

Nice going!

I've been wanting to try one of those DD coils.

That is the coil I had on mine but I am trading it for the stock 9x8 for my hunting the 12 X10 Widescan is not feasable I may later buy another one because I used it this past weekend in a hunt at a old ghost town and done very well but dont get to hunt those places very often mainly lots and yards and parks The problem I ran into was the brushy areas were hard to get the large coil into and that was where a lot of the great finds the other guys found they were using smaller coils but I do know that the 12 X 10 is an awesome coil and will be back in my aresonal soon

Yes it did or more like I did. I think it boils down to the coverage area of the 10 x 12. Maybe I needed to slow down with the 8 x9.:detecting:

Dont get me wrong, the 8 x9 is an excellent coil. My problem is sometimes I move to fast when I should be overlapping swings a little better with the 8 x9. Dont rule out the 5 x10 Elliptical for the type hunting you do.
