Talked to Rusty at Tesoro and will be getting a Vaquero very soon, cant wait to see how it matches up with my Omega 8000

I will be awaiting your opinion to see how the beep and dig stacks up against the display!

The Omega was troubled with EMI at almost every site I tried it at. I got rid of it and got my Vaquero and absolutely no EMI problems at the very same sites the Omega was about useless at.
As far as matching up to the Omega, the Vaquero will spank it's butt and send it home IMHO.

Rainy... I had detectors with them screens on them. When I first got my 1st Tesoro without a screen,, I never looked back. I just go by the sound. I have gotten good at turning that disc knob to I.D. my targets. Most of the time I will tell you if a penny is copper or zink. Sometimes I get fooled, but not much... KEN

You won't regret getting any Tesoro. You'll start finding things that others leave behind. Also they handle EMI better than the Omega.

When you start using the Vaquero, you may feel completely blind and deaf after using the (Awesome) Omega 8000! The one tone Vaq definitely takes some getting used to after having so much info available with the Omega. Keep us posted on how the 2 compare. I would love to see the results.

Ken is right on. It takes a bit of time and practice, but once you get good with the sound and discrimination knob you'll do well.
