VDI v4.0 to older versions and frequencies

mrmetaldetector

New member
Hi all;
First, I am new to this forum and the Deus. I searched the forum and did not see any prior strings on this so I will try this out.

I heard that the visual ID numbers for target can vary by frequencies chosen on the older software versions. I hear that the new 4.0 now standardizes the values across all frequencies.
1.) Does anyone have a chart that shows the TID/VDIs on the 4.0 update and does it actually standardize them?

2.) If so, what feature on the 4.0 is necessary to turn on this standardization

Jessie

Hi Jessie
Target IDs are standardized to 18khz for all things unless you turn the feature off. The same feature was available in V3 but you had to turn it on if you wanted it. So it's always been around but the v4 has it on unless turned off.

Really good to know Todd and thanks a bunch for all the attention you pay to this community of detecting.

Although i do own a controller i rarely use it,i do carry it with me usually in my pocket if i need to adjust any settings,but the Deus is in my mind a audio machine and that is how i personally prefer to use it,at depth the TID becomes un-reliable but the audio is still for the most part accurate at much greater depth,hence why i use it as a audio only machine and not make a 'dig-no dig' decision based on what the screen solely tells me.

FYI, the standard VDI numbers Todd mentioned does not work with the new HF coils. In 28kHz and 54kHz the VDIs are real high. Some pull tabs in the 80s, some shot gun shells in the high 80s, and even 22 bullets close to 80. I will find out next week how high they are in 80kHz!

I found these on the net unsure who to credit for this but it took them a while and it does look like Sergs original.

Appreciate it. Looking forward to the follow up.
Jess
