Very Confused about updating from 4.1 to 5.2

On XP's update instructions it says...Note: The HF coils function only with version 4.0 & 4.1. Does this mean if I update to 5.2 I can't use my HF coil?

no, they will work fine. Don't worry about that. The newer updates were to improve certain things. Those coils didn't need any updating.

I still have 4.0 on my Deus.

Do you know what improvements are? I hate to have to reprogram my specific home-made programs if the latest update doesn't do much.

Is there any better depth or separation in trash?

I think you may have read that wrong.

Xp are saying that there are no updates required for the HF and X35 coils, but they will work just fine on 5.2

When you turn on the deus, look at the screen before the main menu comes up. It will tell you what version you're in. If you install 5.2, it will say you're in 5.2 even on the HF. If you use the LFs, or the X35 you need to be in 5.2. Will run better. If you use HFs only not really necessary,

Steve I am thinking the same thing at the moment.

Do I want the 9" round HF, or the 9" elliptical, or even then new X35 coils?

I have a few very good friends who run the 9" round HF, and say unless I plan on looking for gold nuggets I shouldn't go the elliptical route. However here is where I question that decision.........I have a CTX 3030 as well and use the Coiltek 10x5 (elliptical coil) all the time in my forest hunts. It is great to get in-between trees and fallen down branches, where as the bigger coils struggle.

Plus the Coiltek is a fully enclosed coil so nothing gets aught up in it. Still my friends are saying the round is better, and to just make my own plexiglass cover to help prevent getting caught up on things.

Further to my dilemma is another good friend who has the 9" HF round is telling me to hold off for a few while, as he's just ordered the X35 and will tell me which one he thinks is better after a few weeks of testing.

My brain is telling me that if I am going to be doing 20% forest hunts, that the elliptical is the way to go, but I just don't know?

I will let you know what my buddy comes up with on the X35 in a few weeks.........if you can wait that long?
