I am very confused with all the CZ models, which is the latest one and which is the oldest one.I read on a uk forum that a gent had found some 300 hammered coins with a cz6 ?????,which is very impressive for any machine.
And also do fisher have any new machines coming in the near future, thanks for any replies. UKman

UKman, I am not a Fisher expert by no means, but here is what I do know. The cz6 is a older machine that has not been made for years, but some say one of the best metal detectors made. The newest Fisher machine is the CZ3d, which is considered a "older area specialty machine" which I strongly considered buying.I decided on the CZ70 instead for two reasons, 1)It is considered a better "all round" or "general purpose" machine. 2) For $70 more (U.S.)it has a few more bells and whistles that I particularly wanted.
Good luck.
Jay

CZ6 the original analog unit came on the market in 92 was replaced by theCZ6A to correct a problem with the connectors. In 93 the CZ5 came out and about a year ago was replaced with the newest CZ3D.
Digital CZ7 was introduced in approx. 97 was replaced by the CZ7A and then replaced by the CZ7A pro which eventually became the newest CZ70 pro..
Times of introduction are approximate but surely a tribute to Fisher who makes them to last as many CZ6 units are still being used after all these years..

Thanks jay and dan,are there any tests reviews i can have a look at anywhere on these machines. Thanks, UKman

Thankyou all for your replies, very interesting reading.
Out of the 3d and 70 which has the best discriminatoin, against iron ect.And how would you compare there performance against other machines.
Hope you dont mind all the questions,i have lots more but they can wait <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> .
Thankyou all again, all the best from the uk. UKman

UK man,
When I was looking for a new machine I did not discriminate (ha ha). I considered ALL manufacturers and models. Considerering the qaulity in the way a machine was built, warranties, where the service centers were located, if needed and of course the particular performance of a machine I narrowed it down to a FISHER product. I then narrowed it down to the cz3d or the cz70 pro, which are almost the exact same machine. I opted for the 70. I have had it for a few weeks now but have only been out a couple of times so I cannot give you an honest opinion of it yet.
good luck, Jay
