Video of a coin recovery

I would say do not try to open if you have the ole dialup, but otherwise give it go.

Today I got one of those signals that I was sure it was going to be a Large Cent or Colonial, so before I dug I got the digital camera out and put it in video mode to record the entire recovery process.

The coin ended up being a terrible conditioned 1829 Large Cent but that is ok, rahter have one like that than come home empty-handed.

Last Friday I got a 1802 Large Cent there in much better shape.

Nice video Don. I have that mode on my Canon A620 and a 2 gig memory card so maybe I will try a video when the time and the target are right. Too bad it wasn't like an 1853 Seated quarter or something...you could have been like those TV commercials where some guy is using a Whites and pulling Standing and Seated quarters out like they were clad, from an inch deep.

Nice find Don..........:) My first suggestion is to get the X-1 probe. It really isn't that much more weight and believe me, once you own one you will be glad that have it. It will definitely cut down on trying to find out where it is just by using your coil. HH.

Much better than still pictures and the audio was great sounding. When is the DVD coming out? ha, She cleaned up nice, good work on the movie and find. Ron

I just took it off, I said in the video, wanted less weight today. It is heavy..............................Not really needed to find, just makes recovery easier, second hunt without this year. The probe gets in the way when I brush beat thru thick stuff, and that is what I was doing today.................................

That was really cool. I felt like I was there finding it myself. A nice treat as I look at the Ice Storm out my window. Sweet find too. Congrats. Thanks for taking the time.

and about the only time I wouldn't mind getting my hands dirty...ha ha Keep up the good work and take some more videos..Good hunting

It was like watching the Blair witch project.
Fun to watch.

Great video and coin. I don't go anywhere with out my Sun Ray prob. Let us know what all you find at this sight.

The video was edited in Windows Movie Maker that comes with Windows XP but to put it on this forum, I uploaded the video to my on-line storage area my internet provider provides and that creates a URL which is what you used to see it. It is not loaded to this site.

I do believe there is a free program out there on the internet that you can upload a video to, but I do not remember the site's name.

Most of the ones I find are pretty smoked...that one looks pretty good considering what it DID look like. Any attempt I make to clean them usually take mine from bad to worse.
