Vietnam Wall

First click on a state. When it opens, scroll down to the city and the names will appear.
Then click on their names. It should show you a picture of the person, or at least their bio and medals. This really is an amazing web site. Someone spent a lot of time and effort to create it.
I hope that everyone who receives this appreciates what those who served in Vietnam sacrificed for our country.
The link below is a virtual wall of all those lost during the Vietnam war with the names, bio's and other information on our lost heroes. Those who remember that time frame, or perhaps lost friends or family can look them up on this site. Pass the link on to others, as many knew wonderful people whose names are listed.

appreciate you bringing to mind those who did not return from that war. An unfortunate thing for us Nam Vets is we rarely know the whole name of those we served with in that country. As you know I am "Pete". This is not my real name but a nickname from the military that stuck with me for 11 years of active duty...my real name is Thomas. While "in country" we called each other by nicknames. Usually, like me, the name tag we wore was out last name - in my case - PETERS. Everyone called me Pete. Those who were of Polish names ended in "SKI" and thuse that is what they were called by. One guy we call UNO...long story but his came from having only one of something. Another was "Wild Dogs" Walter. The Wild Dogs was about his nasty smelling feet. Walter? Don't know if it was his first or last name.

As you see we didn't keep track of what state anyone was from and didn't know their real names. I had gone to the Mini-Traveling Wall when it came to Flint Michigan back in the 80s. I stood there not knowing the names of those who remained in country when I came home to the States. Did they survive? I don't know to this day and no way of knowing.

To search military records for anyone you must have their name (real) and their social security number. We don't have that either. I could only look at the Wall and weep for those I did not know and for the few who I only knew of because they somehow were connected with someone else I knew and they lost their loved one.

God bless all who have served in any capacity in the military - before, now and later. Keep them all yours Lord.

Welcome Home Brother

May God Bless our Military...past, present and future and I thank them for their sacrifices for America and Martin and Pete and all others on this and other forums who did their tours of duty for trying to protect us and the South Vietmese although you weren't allowed to win the war! Shame on those who ruled back then for they will face their Maker someday! Amen! Ma Betty

Great site. So many went and never came home alive. So many went and never came home. Don't forget the POW/MIA. I am a firm believer that we left many of our heroes over the in 'Nam to suffer and may still be there somewhere in the jungle.

Welcome home brother.
