Vista Warrior depth

Hastings

New member
I have been researching Deeptech detectors & think that the Vista Warrior is the deepest seeking is this true?
Also how fast is the recovery speed compared to the others & can it compete with the Deus?
Finally how sensitive is it to low conductors like fine jewellery & would the new round 8" coil be the best overall coil if you just used one coil for above,
Thanks.

Thanks for your interest in DeepTech...
I have been researching Deeptech detectors & think that the Vista Warrior is the deepest seeking is this true? The Warrior is deep especially with the Gain pulling the target out of the audio. As to being the deepest, different owners have their own thoughts but I can use any of the DT's and still be confident in it's depth.
Also how fast is the recovery speed compared to the others & can it compete with the Deus? The recovery speed is exceptional and speed test probably goes to the Vista Gold. As far as being as fast as the Deus, that is very controversial, but it will compete with the Deus on speed.
Finally how sensitive is it to low conductors like fine jewellery The Gold is probably going to be more sensitive to gold jewelry since it is running at 25 khz but still at 18 khz, the Warrior will do well.
would the new round 8" coil be the best overall coil if you just used one coil for above, The 8" is a good choice, the elliptical and the Super Six, any would work fine.

Thanks for the questions... some answers are not absolute... it is like the Ford and Chevrolet discussion:starwars:.. HH Richard

Thanks I'm from the UK & can't seem to find any dealers in UK .
Doe anyone know of any dealers in UK as I would like to buy local as I know many other Detectorist's do too particularly if the detector has a problem & it would be much easier & quicker to send back for repair in your own country,

@Hastings,Since Gary B stopped selling Deeptech detectors about 13-14 months ago,no one else was interested in taken the product range over, think you can get them shipped over very quickly from Bulgaria though, but then the old chestnut of also no service dept in the UK either if anything did go wrong.

Must admit its the lack of a service/repair facility in the UK that is holding me back from getting a Vista Gold,i will admit they dont go wrong very often, but one of my strict buying criteria's of a new detector is a backup facility, peace of mind is the main thing.

Mega,
Surely it would make good business sense to have a UK dealer, service centre .
I'm sure they would sell a lot more Deeptech Detector's in the UK if they did.
You would think that they should know this it's pretty basic stuff.
You would think that one of the larger metal detector retailers here would stock them.

Warrior is one of may favorite Beep Dig units..

The DTVG was but the Warrior replaced it ...

The slightly lower freq of 18Khz. from 25Khz of the DTVG keep's you from chasing all that surface junk like small bits of foil and ,22 hulls etc.Not that the DTVG is not also deep but its hyper sensitive to small stuff too..

The Warrior takes care SITUATIONS like that with the Gain control.,,,Yes the warrior has sensitivity control plus a gain control..So crank up the sens and turn back the gain to settle some of that little stuff down ...

I will also attest the warrior in bad F.e Dirt $4Bar+ is quite deep...as deep as anything I have ran in high F.e. dirt..

For some reason I just mesh with the Warrior...it meets and exceeds a wide variety of conditions..world class in iron for unlocking goodies co-located.. Deep ...ergonomic..simple...AWESOME AUDIO..EMI resistant...GREAT COIL Choices.......IF Plamen would add a Iron Volume to it ((HINT HINT Rosi or Silvia)) it would be perfection!!

Now I have to confess I'm a 18-19Khz freq..

Relic....F19...Warrior....Tejon....GMP....

if you don't need a meter....Warrior all day everyday..and who really needs a meter to relic hunt..

Keith

I would second adding the Iron volume control on the Warrior, it's one of the main reasons I liked the Vista Gold.
And have not tried the Warrior.

Thanks Sven & everyone I have been looking for a used one for a while but they just don't seem to be sold used maybe that's because users like them so much they keep them which is a good thing.
I did use a Vista Gold but it wasn't for me even though it was quite a good machine & you do see quite a few used for sale that's why I want to try the Warrior which I hope will be much deeper than the Gold.

There is a used Warrior up on ebay

Can someone with experience using the warrior give a little more information on the difference between gain and sensitivity on this unit? I thought gain was the same as sense???

Per White's forum:
Maybe this will help. Its a highly simplified diagram showing the relationship of RXG, DS and AM Sensitivity controls. The terms "Sensitivity" and "Gain" are interchangeable for these purposes. All of these functions are RECEIVE controls. RXG controls the amplitude of the composite signal (target + ground + EMI) from the coil. Through filtering other signal processing techniques, the ground component, EMI and other non-target noise is minimized. After "clean-up" the DS (Discriminate) sensitivity controls the amplitude of the target data sent to the discriminate circuits. AM (All Metal) controls the amplitude of the target data sent to the All Metal / Pinpoint circuits.

To simplify this, look at gain as overall power then look at sensitivity as cats whiskers, so if the ground is hot and your getting false signals or spikes then ease off sensitivity, if you wish not to find minuscule items then ease off sensitivity.
I run Warrior flat out on both gain and sensitivity and sweep on clean ground, I listen to the machine and then ease off sensitivity till the machine falls stable.

At the moment the ground is rock hard so I don't want to dig deep, so I ease of gain, easing off gain allows me to raise the sensitivity for when looking for quarter shallow hammereds.

Gain=Power.
Sensitivity=Cats whiskers.

Thank you Sven and Ziggy! I think I'm starting to understand. On my F70 when in disc mode I have sensitivity and threshold adjustments. The threshold in disc is not the backgound hum like when in all metal. It's more like a size filter. Very low thresh on the F70 won't let small pieces of metal sound as easily..like bb's or birdshot. Turn the thresh up (again in disc mode) and it will help to pick up the smallest of metal pieces. I'm guessing that the thresh on my F70 is like the sense on the warrior and the sense on my F70 is akin to the gain.
