VLF / PI Freq. Question????

If I understand this right VLF lower freq. work better for finding High conductive targets and higher freqs. work better for Low conductive targets. If that's true for gold ring/water hunting you would want a high freq. machine?? Then their is the whole Pulse Induction thing......PPS ? Also the whole BBS FBS business.

So is that why most machines are built with the lower freqs.? To hit on coins better than low con "trash"?? I know my machines the run at 5/6.5/10/12khz and 15khz - Then the BHID is 5 and 15khz.(Dual freq.) Makes ya wonder if a freq up or down change could improve or destroy a machines effectiveness? Just me snowbound rambling!

It's true to an extent. But you have to remember that most all gold jewelry is mixed with other metals to make them stronger. This means that low frequency machines will hit them just fine. It's when you exclusively hunting nuggets and flakes that you'll need a dedicated higher frequency machine. 15 kHz is still considered a low frequency.
