VOLLEYBALL COURT FIND WITH GOLDEN

Nice ring. The Golden will find them.

mike p. .........Beautiful ring ! Bet that got your juices flowing ! :clapping:

Maybe you can give me some tips. Whenever I hunt the Volley Ball sand court in my local park, using any of my detectors, I keep crashing the coil into sand hills left by the players. I do have a couple of ideas, but haven't tried them yet. Do you think these would work ? What is your remedy ?

My ideas: #1...Take a rake along and smooth down the sand. #2...Put a heavy- gage plastic bag over the coil and up the pole aways, tie it off and then lay the coil in the sand and either (a) slide it forward in a straight line making a trail and then reverse direction, making a new trail in the sand parallel to the first, etc., etc.., or (b) swing the coil over the sand in a normal lateral left-to-right motion. The purpose of the plastic bag would be two-fold, i.e. prevent any sand from getting inside between the coil and coil cover where it could scratch the coil and also to prevent scratching the bottom of the coil cover. This would keep the coil and coil cover from getting scratched and improve the looks if I should ever decide to sell the detector.

Thanks for your opinions, tips, etc.. ;)

Seems like a lot of extra work raking. I think slow and steady will win the race everytime. Just take your time and focus on your coil swing every swing and you should be able to hover over the dunes, slightly raising it where needed. I have never had such a problem with this method. as for coil protection, most covers are less than $10 and I have never had it be an issue when reselling. Just my 2 cents on the matter.
