Hi from Ontario Canada

Just came across this forum today after dong a search for Fisher F5.
GREAT forum. Lots of info.
I've being detecting for 3 years with a Garrett 250 and thought it was time to upgrade. So I just ordered the Fisher F5 yesterday.
Form what I've read over the last couple of days it looks like a great detector for the price.

Bob

You won't be sorry for your order. There are some good reads here by Sven and Mike Hillis if you type them into the search feature at the top of the forum page. I swing the F70 myself but I think a lot of the F5. HH----Larry

Hi
I've been reading Mike Hillis posts very helpful.

Hi Goldwing,

Welcome aboard! Great forum, and some really smart people on here, all are willing to help.

btw, I'm an F5'er, too, and I LOVE this machine!!! As simple as it may seem, this is one hardy little unit! have a blast with it! Welcome to the Fisher family! :beers:

HH,
Jake

Its light and has a large screen for us old guys. Lots of facets in user friendly fashion that work well. Mikes tips are really helpful so while your waiting time to do some reading. All in all a winner and good luck with your new unit...

Welcome aboard our northern friend!! Once u start swinging a fisher odds are u may never look back....hh rick in mi.

I've got maybe a dozen hours in on my F5. The interface is a real joy, it's easy to set it up to run as hot or mild as you like, and it seems like it can really reach out and find small targets in the gold range. Nothing too bad to say except the screw-in coil connector can be a real pain in the backside if you do something silly like tighten it down :)

Thanks everyone for responding to my post.
It came in today :) but it's raining out :(
I will let you know how my first hunt goes.

Bob

First hunt with the F5 and loving it
Was in a park that I detected before ended up with $9.00 in coin (not old) also a Chev badge.
Can anyone here tell me how old the badge is? I think 1930 to 39

An image shown during a Google search "1929 chevy emblem" looks the same as yours, as well as the years 1930 and 31. The years before and after look different.

Google can be your friend, "sometimes". HH

Nice job, Gold!!!

What are those coins that look like pennies with a silver ring around them??? Are you from Canada?
