Walk In The Park Update

Boony

New member
Hi Guys,

Just an update to let you know how the Park is going, so far I have had four trips at three hours per trip (12 hours for those that can,t count) and the take in coins is up to $419.60 plus the usual jewelery, still got a bit to go, so I'm hoping for around $500 all up. I seem to have all the parks and recreation areas here all to myself which is good, nobody seems to be interested in metal detecting.
I said to a friend the other night, if you told someone that there is around $400 to $500 lying about on the field where they had the rock concert they would laugh at you.
Anyway it's been good so far and I have just had permission to search our local Race Course, the Cup was held there last week with around twenty thousand people attending so I'll give it a go on Thursday morning, I'll let you know how it turns out.

All the best,,,,,Boony

Well I hit the Race Course this morning, and what a disaster, I picked up $4.00 (two $2 coins) in about two hours, it's just a continuous carpet of bottle tops, if they had twenty thousand people at the cup I reckon every one of them dropped at least two bottle caps, I gave it away in disgust, and went back to the rock concert park, gave it an hour and a half and picked up fifty one dollars so the day wasn't a complete disaster, the take from the rock concert is now at $470.30.

All the best.....Boony

I'm not surprised about the racecourse. The one here in Dubbo, gets worked over a fair bit. I've talked to a couple of fellas that have hit it, and they only find about the same as you just did.
That spot you've got there is a cracker! (not that you need reminding:lol:) I have a spot, which is in walking distance of home, and it will produce a couple of hundred a year, but no where near as good as what you've got there. It won't take too many concerts, before a few others wise up to your spot. It's a bit depressing, when others catch on, as the totals take a big slug.:( Just the nature of the hobby.
Thanks for posting. it's quite encouraging.
Mick Evans.

G'Day Boony, The trouble with having such a bonanza is it is a real come down when it's all gone and you are back to the 20 to 30 dollar a day outings , i've been there, and it's killing me. I hope yours lasts longer than mine, it's certainly bigger. HH.
