Its the fine print corp return policy that ruins most american mfgs that attempt to sell through big box...usually its stipulated that on any return, the mfg is responsible for 2X the item value. Just think of every customer that impulse buys one, trys it out for the weekend, and takes it back, that goes for fishing poles, aluminum baseball bats, and everything else...why a plucky and industrious lad could go deep sea fishing with some great gear he bought on friday, and get his full money back on monday if he wishes....the mfg has to destroy what is most likely a perfect unit, and pony up 2X what they sold it to the retailer for! They contractually cant sell it, refab, or anything...gotta be scrapped...I know, I've had a couple of great american mfgs customers go bankrupt because of this policy...selling anything through these big guys is exactly like playing with a rattlesnake, sure its exciting and fun, but you better know what you are doing, or you'll get bit bad!
