Our silver finding place has been fenced off. Been pulling great stuff for years there. It was barracks for WW 2 fighter pilot training then turned city housing, Going to be hard finding silver now. Anyway I saw people flipping a house and they let me hit the property, 5 wheat's, A 42' S War nickel, old earring with stones, old skate key and clad. All the war nickels I find are covered in black tar looking stuff?

To bad about your hony hole,I'll bet you find another one!! Nice finds though, dont know about your nickles, maybe something in the ground?....hh rick in mi.

Nice finds...weird about that black tar on the nickles, I cant think of any possible reason for that. My how the mysterys of what we find make a fellow think!

Nice bunch of finds. The sites I hunt seem to give up several war nickels a year and I can usually tell immediately that they are a war nickel. Usually ample silver showing right off. Some are stained and don't clean up perfect, but with some work I can usually get most of the crud off. Yours must have been in some gunky type of ground. Still fun finding them. HH jim tn
