Well here we are once again. You thought that the last couple post's were great. Got News For You! This is the Holy Grail of any of my post's thus far. I hope you used the Bathroom before viewing or you may mess yourself. 3 Guys in 2 days found 78 Silver!!!! Most came on Saturday. Most came from an area about 100'X70' Approximately. Dale and Tim's finds will be posted by Rick(ND) since I am having problems getting them to the Forum. I will tell you what they found. Let's start with Tim. Tim's finds were 1 Barber Half(1902), 4 Walking Liberty Halves, 1 Standing Liberty Quarter, 4 Washington Quarters, 1 Barber Dime, 5 Mercury Dimes, 5 Roosevelt Dimes, 3 Indian Heads, 31 Wheat Pennies, and 2 Silver Rings. Total Silver= 21! Dale's finds were 1 Standing Liberty Quarter, 6 Barber Dimes, 9 Mercury Dimes, 10 Roosevelt Dimes, 1 Liberty V-Nickel, 1 Buffalo Nickel, I believe 2 Indian Heads and 30 Wheat Pennies. Total Silver= 26! This was a trip that will most likely be never repeated again. Great Job Fellas! Now for what I found. I found a total of 31 Silver this time out. 26 of these came on Saturday in just a matter of a few hours. The Silver were 2 Barber Halves dated 1907-d and 1912-s, 2 Walking Liberty Halves dated 1917-d (D on Reverse) and 1940, (both times I found a Barber Half, there was a Walker next to the Hole) 2 Barber Quarters dated 1902 and 1907-O, 1 No Date Standing Liberty Quarter, 1 Seated Dime dated 1851, 3 Barber Dimes dated 1897,1898, and 1900, 12 Mercury Dimes dated 1917-s,1918-s,1927-d,1930-s,1935-d,1936-d,1939-d,(2)1941,1942,1944-d, and 1945-d, and 8 Roosevelt Dimes dated 1946,1947-d,1948-d,1950-d,1951,1952,1964 and 1964-d. I started cleaning the Silver since they were all black and they will turn out nicely but I can finish that later. I found 3 Indian Heads dated 1880 and (2)1901's. I found 37 more Wheat's also. The dates are 09,16-d,18,24,26-d,27,27-d,30,30-d,35-d,37-d,40-d,(2)41,41-d,(2)44,(4)44-d,45,(4)45-d,(4)46-d,47-s,50,52,53-d,53-s,55-d, and 58-d. 1 Silver Ring also surfaced during the hunt this weekend. I also found a few other Relic Items. They are a L'Odeur Compact, a Palmolive Token, a Play Dime of Buffalo Bill, a Boy's Scouts item that reads "Onward For God And My Country", and a Small Ladies Pocket Watch that might be Gold. The crud on it is flaking off pretty easy and I cannot see any kind of Copper area's on it. It does have some weight to it also. I also will post the Bullet that Dale found since I didn't give it back to him. That does it for this time. I hope you didn't accidentally relieve yourself at the computer and until next time, Good Luck and HH.[attachment 64263 Silver.jpg][attachment 64265 SeatedDime.jpg][attachment 64266 Indians.jpg][attachment 64267 Wheats.jpg][attachment 64268 RingCompactBulletTokens.jpg][attachment 64269 PocketWatchandBoysScouts.jpg]

before viewing the post again. Gotta' make sure they are still clean.
You definately keep me inspired to get out and hunt. Way to go.

I know James has done a lot of research in the winter month at the library, getting old centennial books and reading info on many small town that are no longer there and some still there that had old picnic groves, fairgrounds and any place people gathered. Like I say some of these are just fields now and many over grown too, so most would never know there was anything there. Without the research James, Tim and Dale would be like me and say "I sure wish I had a area like that to detect"
What is nice is that they give us some inspiration to get out and try to find more as it is out there.

There should be a law like hunting and fishing where there is a limit on how much you can get because you guys are way over the limit and would have to throw some back.:nono::clapping:

Great finds guys, I am proud of you all and show what a little research can do.

What an awesome weekend for you guys! It must have been great digging all those halves and quarters... I only have a very vague recollection of the last time I hunted a place with that many finds... Keep snooping around for more places like that up there! Take care and HH, Mike.

Could'nt believe how many Coins were coming out of this small area and it is by far the hottest spot I have ever detected at. Just wish that the other majority of this was as easy to pop Coins out of. Thanks again and Good Luck and HH to you.

I like to call it the Silver Mine myself! Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

I was in shock when the first swing from Tim unearthed a Walker just in seconds of turning on his detector. Sure was a fun hunt and something that will never be forgotten. Wish I could find spots like this more often. Thanks, Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

But if everything plans out right, it will be in the works for you and your wife to net some good Silver like we did this past weekend. Good Luck and HH to you Buddy.

Have you done any Research into the History of your area before? If not, I urge you to do so, that is if you want to find spots like these to hunt at. There out there! Just takes some reading into and locating them, and of course permission if needed. After that, you may start popping out Coins like these in no time. Thanks, Good Luck and HH.

One thing to look for is places that are Old. Older the Better!
