We closed on the house today...

...and closed a chapter of our lives as well. Brian and Sarah grew up in that old house and it was pretty emotional for Carol as we signed the papers.
With that behind us we can now look forward to making memories in our new home.
We are going to the beach the first week of June but it could possibly be delayed, depending on when we can schedule Brian's surgery. He goes to see the surgeon Monday. Hopefully, we can have it done within a couple of weeks so he'll have time to heal before we go. If not, we may try to wait until after the trip. This is the second year in a row that we have planned a vacation 6 months ahead and then had a surgery come up. I took out trip insurance to cover my deposit in the event we can't go due to his surgery. I really don't have that strong of a desire to go to the beach but Brian and Sarah would sure be disappointed if we can't go.
I got my hair cut today and the lady that owns the shop told me they bought a 90 acre farm that is in Cival War area and she is going to check with her husband to see if he'd mind if I search it. Now that I don't have a digging partner it's hard to get motivated to find new sites. I told her that I had 2 detectors and would be glad to intoduce him to the hobby. I'll be cleaning the carpets in her shop Sunday evening and should have an answer then.
Time to hit the sack, it's a long day tomorrow!!
Hope you all get out and find a bunch this weekend.
God Bless,
Doug

I thought I was your diggin partner! I'm only about 9 hours away, and I have driven alot further to hunt bullets! Keep us updated about Brian. Also if the kids want to see the beach, there is an awesome one up here at Lake Michigan! and you know what is the first week of June don't ya??? Hint Hint! Tell Brian that kody and Shelby want to see him again, and tell Sarah that there is a cute 16 year old boy that lives up here too!

God's blessings for you all to have a great vacation and healing for Brian whether he has surgery or not!
God performs miracles, so just believe!
God Bless!

the surgery for Brian, getting to the beach for the kids, getting to detect the civil war area and even in getting a new detecting buddy.
May God work on all these for you.

I wouldn't have to ask Sarah twice either!
I really would love to make the trip but unforunately we have to go to the beach, they are twisting my arm you know!
I sure hope you guys have a great time!!!

...we do believe in miracles! One day I was taking Brian to the doctor to get his leg braces adjusted and Brian commented that he wished he didn't have to wear them. I told him how I had prayed for God to give me the disease so he wouldn't have to suffer. He said, "Oh, no daddy, you shouldn't pray for that, God made me perfect, only different!"
I think it is a miracle that he can walk and talk and is intelligent and almost always has a smile on his face. We are truly blessed.
Betty, thank you for your prayers!
Doug
