Hi Folks; A bit of thought here.
I saw the "Ragged Old Flag" Video and couldn't help think about current events and World views of America. It struck me that given different messages I've received in time past from here and from overseas just how pertinent that video is today. It took a little time but I think I "may" have put it into a perspective I never thought of before. Here It is. :
You know today America may be shaken but we are still standing Proud. As well we should. I being American, can't help think about all that has happened and is happening now. Yes it hurts, but Faith is more than a Feeling. I thought about all that has happened since 2000 AD and it is staggering.
In 2001 a Madman and his cronies attacked America killing thousands of innocent men, woman and yes children. Then came War; Just or Not, I don't care. In 2003 our Military became engulfed in a War they did not want in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2004 came Economic Disasters one after the other in seemingly endless parade. A new President was elected on promise of fixing things.Like His predecessors before him he has become engulfed in a quagmire of different problems rendering him a lame duck President in effect. I know some will disagree. That is ok. That s the American Way. Today America''s shores are awash in Oil from a foreign Country and Americas Gulf Coast is devastated to say the least. We will rebuild. Our hearts are awash in the Blood of our Brave Sons that we are so Proud of and have every right to be.Many of us are Veterans of different Wars as well. Our Economy is in shambles. Unemployment is at an all time high. Yet America still stands. On the World Stage we are a laughing stock. This I believe is born of their jealousy of our Standard of living in spite of our Economy and confusion over how America can still function, let alone respond to trouble despite our travails. Many have tried to and actually have hurt America and Americans.They have all paid the Ultimate price for their actions and will continue to do so.. Dictator after Dictator has fallen. Their Carcasses falling upon that Hill littered with those who have tried to harm us and fallen before them The latest being Saddam Hussein. Atop that Hill Proudly stands the Grand Old Flag, The Stars and Stripes. Yes We will have more hardships to come but America will stand Proud. That is the American Way. Through it all I believe that God will see us through. That America will once again stand tall for all to see.The bright light of Liberty will continue to shine And God will Bless us all. Funny thing is, I guess that Ragged Old Flag is still Waving Proudly and is still pertinent today. With that said May God Bless America. May God Bless Us All And Each Of Ours. May He Bless Our Troops and their families. May God Bless Our Allies as well.
