Just think a dog that could sniff coins for us. Never need batteries. they can be taught to sniff everything else so why not coins lol

I talked to a dog trainer at church and that is what she said. It can be done . She said you would have to use Gold and silver that had never been touched by human hands otherwise the dog might lock onto that scent instead. I like to train my Golden but I don't know how to make it all work.

You guys are behind times. You should see my dogs at work in my test garden. Especially a hole Ive freshly filled. They never show me what they find though. I guess thats the next problem to solve HH

Funny you should bring this up. In the story I am writing, Billy's dog Pulltab can sniff out silver coins. Of course all of Billy's friends think it is just another one of his tall tales.

I based the dog in my story loosely on a real dog where I grew up.
Mr. Tilly had a Lab. He'd go down to the creek and toss a coin into that muddy water. I'll be darned if the old lab would jump in, root around under water in the mud and find that coin. At that is a true story.

There WAS a dog that could sniff out paper money and a video or program that you could buy to train a dog to do just that-I wish I still had the info. I mean, if a cadaver dog can actually find a body in a lake from a boat......... Anyway, the story was that the owner happened to use paper money while training his dog indoors. The next day, while out for a walk, the dog came back to the owner with a $5 bill in his mouth.

wow that's so neat. I thought it might be possible.I can't wait to read your story awhitster and liltracs that's so funny. Maybe they are starting their own stash. lol
