Loren will have her tonsils and adenoids removed as well as her old ear tubes. We will be so stinkin' glad to have it out of the way and hopefully on the road to good health for a change. We went for her pre-op testing today and it was nightmarish. Took us almost Five hours to register, meet with the surgical nurse and to get a simple blood lab drawn. The hospital was overrun with people trying to get procedures done before the end of the year and they were way understaffed. Loren has never been a hard stick, but it took Five different people poking and proding on her to get her blood. She will be black and blue tomorrow and it was about more than I could take. The hospital didn't have a pediatric nurse on call whatsoever and they all talked about being afraid to stick her. She was already terrified to have the draw done and the "professionals" scared the crap out of her. After poking her countless times, they finally tried the vein I told them I felt and made a good stick. Shew! If her anemia is in check, the procedure will go as scheduled. She is getting pretty congested, but her Dr. said as long as she doesn't have a fever, she will be okay for surgery. Please pray her blood will be in check and that she will have no bleeding issues. Thanks y'all.

I will be praying for ALL of yall, Liz. When Julie was a little girl I went through the same thing with her and the sticking. That happened more than once with her and the last time it happened I threw a hellacious fit that pretty much rocked the entire hospital and laid down the law to the doctor, and every nurse and aid on that floor (Mike, I know you're thinking, Gun Powder & Lead! lol). They miraculously came up with someone who could stick her with no problem. Sometimes I think they just don't really care. That was a long time ago and I figure it's even worse now.

I will continue to pray that all goes well.

Will be praying for all. Having fun with the health system right now myself..

WIll do...she has been in my prayers...

Lisa, you hit the nail on the head! They just don't care. It disgusts me to see so many people enter service positions who are only seeking money/security. When you have a health care person say "I don't stick kids", there's a huge problem. If these phlebotomists had spend a bit of their energy into doing their job compassionately instead of complaining and the like, everyone would have been better off. I, like you, had to end up getting pretty hateful to get the job done. This morning, the drama still continues...I have called to get her results and guess what? One of her labs is "missing" and I am waiting for a call from the doctor. I'm getting ready to be forced to let my temper shine through and it is UNFORTUNATE...Behaving like a mature adult gets nothing done anymore. I just don't get it.

Thanks to all for the prayers and please continue as the problems continue to surface this morning. I have been praying for god's will concerning the surgery and right now, I'm not so sure if she is supposed to be going through with this.

Praying for the whole crew.

Prayers for Loren to be able to have the surgery done and to go well with Jesus' loving peace and comfort for all of you! Rec the beautiful Christmas Card and thank you all very much! I go to the dr tomorrow for my checkup and they have moved the office, so hopefully, I won't have any trouble finding where to go, as I tend to get confused and don't like changes! May God Bless and A Very Merry CHRISTmas to you, Liz and family! Amen! Ma Betty

Said with tongue in cheek...I'm sure! I renewed my meds and vitamins and was charged way above what I have been paying, so have to call my ins co about paying for Vits and stomach med....going to take back for they labeled 2 boxes of over-the-counter Omeprazole and charged me $45.38 for 60 tabs and wrote the prescription from dr. wrong....been taking one tablet a day and now it says 2 times a day, which makes the 60 capsules lasting just for one month! The 30 I've been getting in med bottle were 30 for $6.00 and that is quite a jump in price! I will do without before I pay the price that they charged me on Friday! They claim the ins won't pay for either Vit D or Omeprazole now and it is not even the first of January for a new change as yet! But Praise God for He is with me in Jesus' name! Amen! Ma Betty
