Loren will have her tonsils and adenoids removed as well as her old ear tubes. We will be so stinkin' glad to have it out of the way and hopefully on the road to good health for a change. We went for her pre-op testing today and it was nightmarish. Took us almost Five hours to register, meet with the surgical nurse and to get a simple blood lab drawn. The hospital was overrun with people trying to get procedures done before the end of the year and they were way understaffed. Loren has never been a hard stick, but it took Five different people poking and proding on her to get her blood. She will be black and blue tomorrow and it was about more than I could take. The hospital didn't have a pediatric nurse on call whatsoever and they all talked about being afraid to stick her. She was already terrified to have the draw done and the "professionals" scared the crap out of her. After poking her countless times, they finally tried the vein I told them I felt and made a good stick. Shew! If her anemia is in check, the procedure will go as scheduled. She is getting pretty congested, but her Dr. said as long as she doesn't have a fever, she will be okay for surgery. Please pray her blood will be in check and that she will have no bleeding issues. Thanks y'all.
