Weekend Dig'n....Part 1

Well, with a long weekend it was time to climb down from the ladder & "git it Dun" colonial style. I decided to try a foundation site that was "hunted out". BUt, I knew it was fulla iron so I wanted to clean it out & see what was masked...if anything. The story will be below in pictures.....Step one was to wack down some brush & ferns with a sickle. Then I raked some leaf litter outta the way to get to the soil. I used the Excel with disc on -34 to begin to get some of the bigger iron outta the way. First target was a colonial, hand forged door latch. Bonus! See some colonial iron relics can be keepers, another reason to "GIt R Done" Next I broke for lunch ;) Then I sl0wly swung over the cleared area. Hard work paid off with a colonial, hand engraved silver shoe buckle :surprised: (close up to show details)

Don Miguel beef and bean burritos with green chili peppers? :yikes: What are you thinkin? You JUST DON'T DO THAT in the woods! :nono: Glad to see you got out. Did you get that T-Shirt printed in Texas? :poke: That shoe buckle is cool! Send it to me!

I end up skipping lunch or dig'n around in my backpack for outdated protein bars :puke: But this time I packed a "real" lunch so I could stay out there all day. That's a chicken salad wrap, w. chips, & iced tea's too :drinking: It WAS labor day.....it was hard work to get them welics out (& if that flask was whole that may have been my England trip right there). Lotta work......But I did just like my new shirt says
