There was a Vacant Lot in town here that just got stripped today so I figured I better try it before the Hole is dug tomorrow morning and we start doing the forming for Footings. Got a few finds but nothing too great. Watch for my post after work tomorrow night for the Weekend Finds and Monday's Finds. Sorry for the wait fella's! Until then, Good Luck and HH!:detecting:

Weekend started off bad on Saturday but by the end of the day, I found a few keepers that made it all worth while. I tried a Ball Diamond, a Cemetery Parking Lot, and 2 Fairgrounds this weekend and had some success in all of them but not in the quantity that I was hoping for. The Fairgrounds that I went to on Saturday has yielded some Silver (the oldest being a 1918 Merc) in the past so I thought I would try this spot since I only had about 1 1/2 Hours left of Daylight. Started picking up the normal Clad and headed into the Ball Diamond where I have found Silver before with the Stock Coil. I was using the Joey Coil again this weekend about 95% of the time. Anyways, I started working along the fence area and got about 1/4th the way across when I decided to start heading into the middle of the Ball Diamond. While hunting, I was thinking about Tim finding a Barber Quarter here a few years ago and to my knowledge, that was the only Real Old Coin found there, at least for Barber. I was saying to myself that if I could just find 1 Barber, even if it was just a Dime, that Saturday would be a success even though the poor results I was having. I walked a couple steps into the Ball Diamond and got a Deep 28-30 on my Digital Screen which I knew right away was Silver. I dug a Plug and went into the hole with the Probe. The Target was still in the hole so I dug out more dirt and when I did this, I seen a flash of Silver but lost sight of it while I was removing dirt from the hole. I went in again and nothing. Then I looked at the pile of dirt and seen a Dime sitting there. I picked it up and there she was, a Nice 1912-d Barber Dime. I was happy to find this Coin and if I wouldn't have found anything else, I would have been happy with my finds on Saturday. I fill the Plug and start swinging again and 1 step later, get a 27 reading which told me Wheat Penny. Dug it and found a 1917-d Wheat Penny. I filled the hole and started walking again. I got about middle of the Ball Diamond and got a 24-26 reading that was bouncing around a bit. Dug it and a 1903 Indian Head comes to light. After that, I said "what the hell is going on here!". Filled the hole and started again. Headed back the other way doing a Pattern and got another Wheat Penny dated 1919. Then I was saying to myself "it's too bad that Barber Dime wasn't a Quarter". After thinking this, I walked a short distance and got a Screamer reading 28-30 again that was Deep. I dug a Plug and seen Silver. A Quarter I said! Pulled it out of the hole and it was a 1902-O Barber Quarter. Now I was starting to get excited since this was the 3rd Coin (that being Barber or Indian Heads type) that was Older than the usual Coins I found there. I started towards some Buildings and almost made it but got a Shallow 28 and decided to dig it and add it to the Clad I was getting also. Dug it and out pop's a Silver 1957 Canadian Quarter. Alright I said!!!! Tried around the Buildings and nothing. Then I went back out into the Ball Diamond for a last trip through since it was getting dark and started heading towards the Van. Got about 3/4th's the way there and got another 24-26 reading. It was dark by now so I dug it and seen it was a Penny. I put it into my Coat Pocket so I could look at it when I got into the Van. I loaded everything up and was on my way back home when I realized I didn't check out that Penny I just dug. I reached in and pulled it out and there was an 1890 Indian Head in my hand. 4 Coins that I never have pulled before from this Fairgrounds and all within 1 1/2 Hours of hunting. Impressive I would say! So I definitely will be going back but most likely not until next year since I want to try and find at least another 23 Silver. Sunday was a slow day for finds but found a few more Old Coins at the Fairgrounds I was at last weekend where I found that 1918 Canadian 5 Cent Silver Fishscale. Found another Canadian Quarter about 2" Deep that only read good if you were over top of it due to junk next to it. I also found a 1911 Barber Dime that was about the same in Depth but unluckily scratched it while probing for a new Dime. Just goes to show you never know just how deep some of them Old Coins will be. So here is what I found this last weekend. I found only 7 Silver but they were of the kind I like finding, Bigger and Older for the most part. They were 1 Barber Quarter dated 1902-0, 2 Canadian Quarters dated 1945 and 1957, 2 Barber Dimes dated 1911 and 1912-d, 1 Mercury Dime dated 1918-d, and 1 Roosevelt Dime dated 1954-d. I also found 2 Tokens. One Good For and the other a Junk Token. The Good For Token reads Good For 10c In Trade on the front and on the back reads John I Shuldheisz Fredonia, No. Dak. This Token should clean up better when I use Electrolysis on it. The other Token is a Showbiz Pizza Place Token. My other finds will be in Part:2 coming up shortly. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH to you all.:detecting:[attachment 71325 DirtySilver.jpg][attachment 71326 CleanedSilver.jpg][attachment 71327 DirtyTokensFront.jpg][attachment 71328 CleanedTokensFront.jpg][attachment 71332 DirtyTokensBack.jpg][attachment 71333 CleanedTokensBack.jpg]

Here is the rest of the finds from this last weekend. Let's start out with the Clad Count! I found 41 Quarters (30 of these I found on Saturday), 59 Dimes, 3 Nickels, and 160 Pennies. Total = $17.90. Pretty Good Haul! I also found 1 Old Nickel. It was a 1924 Buffalo Nickel. There were 2 Indian Heads found dated 1890 and 1903. For Wheat Pennies, I found 26 more. The dates are 15-d,17-d,(2)18,19,25,(3)25-d,(2)26-d,27,29-d,30-d,35,36-d,38,42-d,(2)44-d,45,45-d,(2)46-d,(2)53-d. The Misc. Finds consisted of a Sterling Silver Ring with a Stone, a Large Tag with the Number 19 on it, a Junior Pilot Pin (found broken in hole), a Religious Pendant, Cuff Link, and other Misc. Items. The Button broke into pieces when I tried to clean it. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH to you all that get out during the week. :detecting:[attachment 71351 DirtyIndiansAndNickel.jpg][attachment 71352 CleanedIndiansandNickel.jpg][attachment 71356 DirtyWheats.jpg][attachment 71360 CleanedWheats.jpg][attachment 71353 DirtyMisc..jpg][attachment 71354 CleanedMisc..jpg]

Nice find's once again for you this weekend. My Barber quarter ended up in the wrong pouch tho...:nono: I will be back out again this weekend looking for my own elusive 16D Merc...HH to you next weekend also. Oh, and Jason may have one coin you don't but you continue to kick our butts in the silver count every weekend.:veryangry:

The Silver is out there, you just have to find it. That spot that you found should yield a few more Silver and they should be the Old kind. Just remember to Pattern off that site or you will miss Coins for sure. Good Luck and HH this weekend as well.

but I need to find some hunt time before the weather starts to really get nasty. I will still get a hunt or 2 in through the winter though no matter how bad it gets.

This last weekend, I figure I hunted for a total of 14 Hours or so. Usually, I try to get in at least 10-12 Hours a day in the Summer, from Sun-Up to Sundown. Good Luck and HH!

I hope you get caught up on your work Bryce and get out and find a few more Goodies before you get any bad weather. It's hard to keep concentrated when working, especially when it's nice out now and later on there will be snow on the ground. Just makes you want to work harder to get the job done so you can get out and do what we all love to do, Metal Detect in hopes of that GREAT FIND that most only dream about finding. Good Luck and HH when you do get some time off Bryce!

Everytime I try to get too long winded and post something too long it gets wiped out right in the middle of typing. What's up with that? I emailed admin but no response?

Thanks
