weekend Michigan group hunt

Two friends of mine here in S Michigan hosted a weekend 2-day group hunt, I've gotta say it was the greatest thing I've done it awhile! These two guys scouted old yards and state land for weeks for permission to hunt the sites. Lots of old coins found, one guy dug an 1818 LC in an old cellar hole, another a couple Barber quarters. Barber dimes, indians, shield nickel, the list goes on.....about 10 detectorists both days out, we had to split the groups in order to hunt some yards. Not all of us club members, just an informal hunt with lots of fun. I got beat out on the silver, but still managed a couple old lincolns and a few relics!

Sounds like a great time.

Good times with good people.....congrats!

Neat finds. Your copper coins looks much sharper than what we find in NE Ohio. That round thing with the green patina looks like some sort of locket that once held stones (or cut glass) in those six divots. That bell is nice - the ones I find are usually broken. I wonder how these bells were used? Maybe attached to leather and worn on horses like sleigh bells? Neat stuff! HH
