Has anybody got any ideas on how to improve the balance on the Xterra when using the 10.5" DD coi?----The weight of that coil makes the detector a bit "nose heavy" on that great little light detector.-----I have heard of turning that coil around backwards mounted to the shaft helps some.----Any other ideas in this regard?

I have a bad back so I use one of those swingy thingy I got from kellco. It helps a lot when using the 10.5 DD coil.

I tried adding one of those bike drinks holders at the back of the armcup.
Filled it up with a bit of dirt.
Compensates the nose diving nicely, but needs more effort to swing.
Now I just scrub the coil whenever I can. Loosen up the coil screw at it follows the contours of the ground pretty decent.

Hi,
I made up a counterweight for big coils
I took out the plug on the end of the shaft
then filled up a tube with lead and concrete and slid it in
The tube fits snuggly but I added some velcro to be sure
The weight is about 200 grams (3/4 pound)
It is removeable for when I switch back to smaller coil
