Canewrap said:
WIth the standard coil how much does the Explorer SE weigh?

manual states 3lbs. 7oz. (excluding batteries) That's with the 10.5" DD coil

TIA,
Bill

Canewrap----I don't know why the manual gives us a weight without batteries--I just haven't done much hunting lately without batteries.---OK Explorer SE weights: (hunt ready, and by hunt ready I mean w/coil cover and yes, even batteries.----SE w/lightweight 11" coil 4lbs 4oz---SE w/Slimline coil 4lbs 6oz---SE w/FBS 1050 coil 4lbs 8oz------(lightweight 11oz coil 19oz---Slimline coil 21oz--FBS 1050 coil 23oz). Incidentally, I got these weights from 2 different scales I have, that are highly accurate.---That help you??--Now say "thank you"-that was a lot of work!!!--Kidding you------Hope this helps--Del

Good point! They probably didn't put it down because deep inside they knew that it was heavy which is a major complaint of everyone that has one. They have addressed some of these issues with the new 11" coil with it's lighter weight and new mounting point.

What "I" think Minelab should do is give previous owners with the 10.5" coil a 20% discount or even more for getting the new 11" coil.
