Well got permission to hunt a 1803 property! :)

found a property that dates back to 1803. Nice old colonial house with a big barn, garage, & root cellar. Sat vacant for 15 years now. Owner passed and donated to some local church. Finally tracked down the new owners and the guy got back to me today. He gave me the green light.

I told him if I find something really valuable - will donate it to the church or make a nice donation. He just asked that I not dig too deep on property. I told him they'll never know I was there unless they see me. That always makes a big difference with people who have nice turf or properties. Leave it the way you found it, and you'll always be welcome back. Now I'm really psyched! :geek:

I hope it turns out better than some of my recent sites. An 1801 stone house turned out nothing more than clad and wheaties. Another 1830 house turned out a few wheats and a ton of trash. Can slaw everywhere. I had another 1830 house that gave up 3 silvers (Mercs and newer), a bunch of wheats and 1 civil war bullet. I seem to do better on houses that were built in 1875-1895. I don't know why that is.

Good Luck with yours.

thanks guys! yeah I had a one shot deal on a 200 year old house this past w/e. It was as close to unhuntable as I've seen between metal trash and hot rocks. I finally tossed in the towel and chalked up my two hour round-trip to get there and back home as a nice scenic tour in Amish country. *L*

But this new property is 5 minutes away and it just kinda has that wealthy people lived here look. But ya never know till you do your first search on a place.

HH!
