but I did find a way to take my pics by using the bathroom mirror and it nor the camera has broken! You can see Old MA Betty as she looks today and you can copy it and put it in your garden or corn field next spring to scare off the birds and varmints! I have long, natural color red hair and it is wavy......one hair stands up and waves at the other! :)

Also, I've posted pics of my Nativity Scene that God Blessed me with, by winning $100.00 in a BumbleBee sweepstake contest many, many years ago....even before my ex left in 1986! I purchased Joseph, Mary, baby Jesus and the stable with the money and then added it gradually through the years when I was working! When I worked at the Lutheran Church MO Synod, my Avon Lady worked there also and so I was able to get the extra figures from her when each one first came out and with a discount! I always wanted a Creche and the Lord blessed me with a nice one! Praise God and Thank You Jesus! May God Bless each of you with a most blessed and Happy New Year in 2010! My prayer is for God to save those who will be saved and then come, quickly, Lord Jesus! Amen! Ma Betty

P.S. We rec'd some more white stuff last night....not a lot but more on the grassy areas and it has been flurrying off and on all day, so far, but not really covering a lot....the flakes are large and thick at times; therfore, we may have a white New Year's Day! :)

hmmmmm, very creative!! really nice gift!

Well, pictures lie ya know and my hair is getting thin on top, too, and it shows when I wear my hair in a bun! Very embarrassing for a woman, for men usually are known to get thinner on top! You guys look good to me, after all Ma is 74 now and I could be white or grey headed! My grandmother had long Auburn hair and not much grey at all when she passed away at 75 years! She fell and broke her hip and took pneumonia while hospitalized!

Since most of us cannot visit or see other folks on here, it is nice to have pictures, even when we are aging! May God Bless! Ma Betty

Thanks for the pics, Ma. Ya look good. Hope you liked the gifts. Joan picked out the plaque for you.

that's a nice looking Nativity! :)
Good to see you in a recent pic as well! :)

Thank you DK and Joan, as I like both gifts very much and I knew whatever you liked I would like, also! They say when picking out a gift for someone, to choose one that you like yourself, and the other person will like it, too! My problem is when I do that, I want to keep the gift for myself.......for instance, while my ex and I were living in the year of 1958 (our first chilld, a daughter, was born in '56 and was 2 years of age! That Christmas we counted our money and knew what we could spend on presents! We went to see my grandmother, who lived in an apartment in the back on Broadway at that time! We went Christmas shopping in the small shops along Broadway and I saw this beautiful Pitcher and Tumbler set and it was $2.00, so I bought it, but couldn't let it go and kept it for myself! Remember, I was a poor, farmers daughter and never had anything really nice until I had money of my own!

Well, I kept the Pitcher and Tumblers and never used them through all these many, many years and just displayed them at different times! Now, I understand these are called Iris patterned crystal but those in color are worth a lot more! The last time I checked the prices The set was worth over a $100.00, soooo I could sell them for some money to help pay my bills but it is so hard to sell collectibles and yet I know I will have to at some time or another!

How many of you guys and gals collect things besides what you do while MD'ing! I really like glass dishes, especially the older ones....press and cut glass.....but the cut glass ones are very expensive now...so don't have any or very few! Mom and dad didn't buy those either....just what they could use daily! Mother's Oats, flour, coffee and etc. held a single dish which are collectible!

I"ve found odd and ends while detecting, but we always called them junk down on the farm! Now some of that junk or trash is worth oodles of money! May God Bless! Ma Betty

Thank you, Mike, I guess not having very much while growing up caused me to collect those items which I liked and wanted! I didn't spend it all though, while working, I did put money into CD's and then what was left I put into an IRA which is slowly getting smaller because of having to withdraw from it....just to pay my bills! But I Praise God and Thank Jesus, for having it or otherwise I would be up a creek without a paddle, as the old saying goes! I really do not believe in living off the Gov't, and prevent those who are really needy from having help! My dad and mom would not take from them and nor will I unless I absolutely have to do so!

I do owe on Credit Cards because that has been the only way I could keep my home and try to keep it repaired since 1986, when my ex left and we divorced in 1988! Not complaining now....though I sure did cry and complain a lot before I truly found Jesus as my own, personal Savior, Who I always knew about, as far back as I can remember, but didn't know Him personally like I do now, but He always knew me and got my attention like being hit between the eyes with a 2X4.....oooooohhhh dat hurt!!!

The pic was the best I could do by using the mirror although I never took good pics of me, because they looked too much like me! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
